Description
During the Allies’ aerial bombardment of Naples in 1943, the renowned scugnizzi, or street boys, of Naples staged their own violent revolt against the occupying Germans. Using furniture to build barricades and stolen guns to shoot at the enemy, they fought for four days. Hundreds died, yet the valiant uprising was not in vain. The Germans left the city for good.
