Null gives a 31-day meal plan with recipes. Breakfast might be Raspberry Oat-Soy-Banana Pancakes, Quinoa Mango Delight, or Carob Nut Milk Shake (made with soy milk). Lunch might be Cayenne Swordfish (with a spicy olive oil and tofu sauce), Gary's Vegiball Stew (made with vegetables, herbs, and seitan), or Popeye Loves Olive (can you guess?). Dinner recipes include Almond Chop Suey, Stir-Fried Tempeh with Broccoli and Lemon Threads, and many interesting pastas. Desserts are mostly a variety of puddings made with fruit and tofu. Besides the diet plan, Null describes his recommendations about exercise; juicing; vitamins, minerals, herbs, and amino acids; and techniques for handling chronic stress. General Content: Gary Null offers a wealth of solid advice in his audiobook Gary Nullís Ultimate Lifetime Diet. Most of his nutritional information appears to be accurate and consistent with many of the other audiobooks Iíve listened to on diet and nutrition. He advocates fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains as well as certain types of meat such as fish. He is also a big fan of consumption of fresh fruit and vegetable juices, something that I think can be very beneficial for health.

I only have a couple of issues with this audiobook. First, he does recommend the use of a number of supplements. While I donít think this is necessarily a bad thing Iím not sure whether the use of a large number of supplements is the best thing for most people. Iím a pretty strong believer that if a person has an excellent diet consisting of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats, lean meats, etc. then a person doesnít probably need many supplements. In addition, there really isnít much revolutionary in this book. If youíve read a few other good nutrition books you probably wonít learn a ton. Having said that, itís a solid read.

Audio-Specific Content: I listened to the abridged (two cassettes) version of this book. The abridgement was probably a blessing here as there didnít seem to be a lot of new material. Having said that, if this is your first nutrition book it might not have gone into enough detail for you. The book was read by the author and he did an acceptable job.
