LearnOutLoud.com Review
This is a short, insightful interview from comedian George Carlin with Charlie Rose in 1996. At the time, Carlin had done a number of HBO specials and was getting ready for a new one. He cites that a key to his success at stand-up comedy was when he stopped caring about the outcomes of humanity or the American dream, and just began observing with amusement the downfall of humanity. While most comics held out hope for some political solution to America's many problems, Carlin detached himself from that and stood out as a result. Carlin talks about some of his influences from television and movies. This conversation is an interesting look at Carlin's craft as a master stand-up comedian.
