Aida is one of the most popular operas ever written, a sumptuous work which has moments of great drama, but which reminds us in the end that it's all about people--the greatest love affairs and the greatest affairs of state cliff themselves in simple humanity. And no one does simple humanity better then the best-loved of all Italian composers--Guseppe Verdi.

Excellent Intro to Aida

Bravo! A great introduction to Verdi's Aida, intertwining the narrative with key moments of music and arias. Starts off with the 19th century context which Verdi wrote the piece in and then dives write into the opera act by act. The music and narration are both high quality and really capture the passion in Aida.
