Important Speech of Peace

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was not even scheduled to speak this night, but graciously did so when the citizens present demanded it. I am a Social Studies teacher and played this speech to my classes; all were stunned at how prophetic it was, even before they were told it was the speech was the last he gave, and given the night before his assasination. This is a powerful, spirit-led (in my opinion) seed of hope which deserves some fresh air and sunshine today. This speech built empathy among my white students, and it softened the hard edges of my black students. We must remember, and must pass on to our youth, that PEACE is what this great man gave his life for, not for blacks to beat out the whites. Please let every youth you know, regardless of color, be exposed to this lesser-known speech of this great man.
