The story in which Dr. Watson first meets Sherlock Holmes. They take lodgings at 221B Baker Street. Almost immediately Holmes is asked by the police to help solve a vicious murder. On the wall of the room in which the body is discovered the word RACHE is written in blood. As the mystery is solved it seems stranger than before, involving as it does a long nurtured act of revenge and a story of the wild west.
