Description

Franz Kafka's classic short novel tells the strange tale of put-upon salesman Gregor Samsa, who wakes up one morning transformed into an insect. Gregor then tries to act as if nothing out of the ordinary has happened and must watch from his room as first his employers and then his family fall away from him in disgust. Metamorphosis is a modernist allegory that demonstrates how societal and familial pressures can work to crush human independence and is a primary example of Kafka's gift for finding the absurd within the most mundane of circumstances.

Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka was published in 1915 with a translation by David Wyllie and is in the public domain. This audio book was recorded by LearnOutLoud.com and narrated by Seth D. Anderson.
