He addresses the affluent America and the other America of poor people of every color, and particularly of African Americans. Dr. King acknowledges the great strides forward of the civil rights movement of the 1960s, but emphasizes the need to go further in the fight for justice for this other America. He brings up suggestions toward eliminating poverty in America, such as a basic livable income for every American. He also addresses his feelings on rioting and the social unrest at the time.
