Angela Duckworth Talk on Grit

Author Angela Duckworth speaks about her book Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance in this talk delivered at Google. She points out that in her research at the University of Pennsylvania, she has found that there is much more to success than talent and the results that standardized IQ testing covers. She focuses on "grit" which covers the ability of individuals to dedicate themselves to particular goals over time and to persevere through failures along the way. She has developed a somewhat subjective "grit" test which she applies, and Duckworth feels companies would be better off looking at factors like "grit" when they are hiring.
