"...'The king's daughter shall, in her
fifteenth year, be wounded by a spindle, and fall down
dead.' Then the twelfth of the friendly fairies, who had
not yet given her gift, came forward, and said that the
evil wish must be fulfilled, but that she could soften its
mischief; so her gift was, that the king's daughter, when
the spindle wounded her, should not really die, but
should only fall asleep for a hundred years."-The Brothers Grimm

Narrated by Jane Aker in a smooth voice and with a flawless expression, this is a superb audio rendition of The Brothers Grimm's timeless classic fairytale, Briar Rose, otherwise also known as The Sleeping Beauty. The story is about a young girl who has been cursed at birth to sleep a long, endless sleep when she hurts herself on a spindle at the age of fifteen. She will wake up only when a young prince kisses her on her lips.
The story is a pleasure to listen to, not only because of its fairytale element, but also because of the memories it conjures up about reading the story in childhood. Jane Aker does a wonderful job of narrating the story. The audio quality is expectedly excellent. I recommend this audio story to everybody and give it 5 stars.
