In this brief documentary, Dr. Norman Doidge guides viewers through the pioneering work done to reassess our understanding of the brain and it’s ability to rehabilitate itself. For hundreds of years, mainstream scientific thought has held that the brain is hardwired, and that any damage done to this vital area is permanent. “The Brain that Changes Itself” offers a refutation of this commonly held view, showcasing how the concept of neuroplasticity may have overturned fundamental notions of how the brain might heal itself, and offering several case studies illustrating how damaged or faulty neural activity can actually be rerouted, healed or augmented in ways that were previously thought impossible. Fascinating and compelling, this documentary offers an intriguing argument that the brain may be more durable than once imagined.

Thank you for sharing this with us. I learned about neuron plasticity 13 years ago. Very happy to know about it- changed my life- still is. Fear has won sometimes although knowing what i KNOW has helped bring awareness to my self and not what I was taught to believe about my self.
Becoming who you are does not happen over night, it is a process. Re-wiring your brain to what it intended to be before it got locked down into your parents bullshit takes a while and can be done. Once you realize you are worthy and build new connections, your entire world opens up as if the door opened up removing all your shackles off your feet that never belonged to you. xxoo Today is a kick ass day, never give up. ever.
