The World Wide Web Consortium is the steward of the World Wide Web. During the symposium, speakers relate stories about the Web's origins and describe its impact over the past 10 years. Members are congratulated for their accomplishments. Speakers present their visions and dreams for the future of the consortium and the World Wide Web. One of the consortium's primary goals is to make the Web's benefits available to all people, whatever their hardware, software, network infrastructure, native language, culture, geographical location, or physical or mental ability.
