Conscious Mating: Are We Compatible?

Author: David Steeledavid@relationshipcoachinginstitute.com (David Steele)
Wed, Jun 20, 2007

Compatibility is a choice, and is not pre-determined. However, we do have a unique combination of personality traits, values, life vision, requirements, wants, and needs that will result in getting along with some people easier than others. In Conscious Mating we advocate being conscious of who you are and choosing a compatible partner. But how? There are so many ways of describing and measuring personality and many models and opinions about compatibility that it's very confusing, unless you're pioneering anthropologist Dr. Helen Fisher (who is consulting with us on this topic). In this program you learn: - How your personality impacts your relationships - A simple method of determining your own personality profile - Which dominant personality traits are compatible, and which are not - Dr. Helen Fisher's brand new model of Four Love Types (as seen in this month's issue of Psychology Today and Oprah Magazine) - How to determine your own "Love Type" - What Love Types are compatible with you - And more!

Author: David Steeledavid@relationshipcoachinginstitute.com (David Steele)
Tue, Jun 19, 2007

Pioneering anthropologist Dr. Helen Fisher shares her as-yet-unpublished research (unless you count Oprah Magazine and Psychology Today) proposing Four Psychological Types, the neuro-chemicals that determine each type, and the role of these four types in relationship compatibility. Dr. Fisher proposes that humans have evolved four very broad basic biological personality profiles- - Explorer - Builder - Negotiator - Director Dr. Fisher's research shows that each type corresponds with variations in the neural systems for dopamine, serotonin, estrogen and testosterone. Each biological type is predisposed to think and act in predictable ways. In this program you learn: - Four love types found in all romantic relationships - The role of neuro-chemicals in determining each type - Compatibility strengths and weaknesses of each type in long-term relationships - How to determine your Love Type - Which types you're compatible with and how to spot them

Connection Parenting: Replacing Fear with Love

Author: David Steeledavid@relationshipcoachinginstitute.com (David Steele)
Fri, Jun 01, 2007

The level of cooperation parents get from their children is usually equal to the level of connection children feel with their parents. Most of us grew up with the authoritarian model of parenting, which is based on the child's fear of losing the parents love. Consider this- - A parent-child relationship based on coercion and fear grows weaker every year. - A parent-child relationship based on connection grows stronger every year. - By the time our children are teenagers we need a relationship based on something stronger than coercion and fear. As parents we either unconsciously parent exactly the way we were parented or we consciously try to parent the opposite of the way we were parented. Either way our parenting is influenced by how we were parented. In this program you will learn: - How to keep the best and changing the rest - How to teach children respect by treating them with respect - Helping children heal their emotional hurts through listening to their feelings - Building healthy self-esteem and self-worth through filling the "love cup" and creating opportunities for success - Communication that leads to connection - Decoding children's "acting out" behavior so we can respond to their needs instead of react to their behavior - Creating a family support circle so that parents needs are met

Conscious Mating: Finding Lasting Love by Experiencing Your

Author: David Steeledavid@relationshipcoachinginstitute.com (David Steele)
Thu, Mar 29, 2007

When singles become couples, each partner has different hopes and dreams, wants and needs, attitudes and experiences. These differences too often result in relationship failure and disappointment when one or both partners attempt to mold the relationship and their partner to fit what they want, rather than accepting and embracing 'what is.' While we must have a vision and requirements and choose a partner and relationship aligned with what we want, we can't be so rigid we reject reality. How do we let go of needing perfection without settling for less than what we really want? In this program you learn: => How to let your 'experience' guide your heart and head in a pre-committed relationship => Top ten attitudes necessary for lasting love => What Greek mythology can teach us about pre-commitment => Top three dating traps that interfere with experiencing what's real for you => Three stages of pre-committed relationships => A simple, yet powerful triad for creating conscious relationships

Good Husband, Great Marriage

Author: David Steeledavid@relationshipcoachinginstitute.com (David Steele)
Tue, Mar 13, 2007

After thirty-seven years of marriage and almost that many as therapists and marriage counselors, Robert and Jane Alter have concluded that in many cases men and women are not equally responsible for the problems in marriages. Their experience suggests that mostly it’s the men who cause the disconnection. The wives always have some work to do on themselves, and sometimes a lot of work, but when it comes to knowing how to really be in relationship, how to have true connection and true intimacy in a marriage, the men are a piece of work. Jane and Robert have also seen that there are many great men in this world who deep in their hearts want to be great husbands to their wives, and some have gotten off to a great start, but others have no idea, or a bunch of wrong ideas, about how to do that, and need some serious help. Robert’s book, Good Husband, Great Marriage: Finding the Good Husband…in the Man You Married, and the Alters’ work, which they call the "good husband work," is the help they provide. In this program you learn: • The definition of a good husband • The five big lies men tell themselves to keep from changing • The one-way street of change a man has to walk down in his marriage before it becomes a two-way street • What women have to teach men about connection, relationship, and great marriage • The wife’s role in helping her husband become a good husband • How to get a guy to do the good husband work

The New Rules of Marriage: How to Make Lov

Author: David Steeledavid@relationshipcoachinginstitute.com (David Steele)
Sat, Jan 13, 2007

Historically in the Western world, one model for long-term relationships has been the companionable marriage. Passion and deep emotional connection were for lovers, not spouses. In the latter part of the 20th century, we woke up and began wanting more from relationships. The new paradigm is a truly intimate marriage – intellectually, physically and emotionally. These new demands fly in the face of our historical experiences and expectations, often creating conflict. Traditional therapy does not always resolve that conflict. This program presents a new skill set for couples who want fulfilling relationships. In this program you learn: - Why so many current relationships are not ‘truly intimate’ relationships - How partners can use a "Relationship Grid" to visualize and implement positive feedback to one another - How you can get what you want, give what your partner needs, and have the great relationship you deserve

Overcoming the Core Beliefs That Cause Relationship Failure

Author: David Steeledavid@relationshipcoachinginstitute.com (David Steele)
Tue, Dec 19, 2006

If you have even one of these beliefs your relationships don't stand more than a 5% chance of success. It's not what you consciously think that determines the quality of your relationships, but what you subconsciously believe. Until you are able to observe the hidden thoughts, beliefs and feelings that occupy your subconscious mind, and learn to change them, you are doomed to continue repeating the same old patterns in your relationships. Paul and Layne share intimately about how they transformed their own unhappy relationships into a lasting, loving, mutually empowering personal and professional partnership that has lasted thirty years. If you ever wonder why your relationships don't last or seem to work out, you will want to hear what Layne and Paul have to say. In this program you learn: => How to access your subconscious mind to root out self-sabotage => How to avoid getting sucked into the abyss of endless "processing" => Why you need direct access to your Superconscious mind and how to get it => The truth about affirmations and why they often don't work for people => and much more . . .
