The Skinny on Obesity

While I feel this was a very well done piece, they left out something of vital importance. Genetically modified grains and foods. The grain of today does not evenly slightly resemble the grains of even ten years ago. Our bodies are not able to recognize the substance it has ingested. Monsanto's pesticides and herbicides kill pests and unwanted vegetation but the corn (or other grain) has been genetically altered so that it is not affected by the sprays and chemicals poured into and onto the ground and plants. However, simply because the plant does not recognize these deadly chemicals does not mean the plant is not absorbing it. It is then fed to our animals which produce our meat or directly to use via anything made with corn, wheat, etc. So it's a double whammy. Our body does not recognize the genetically modified grain plus we are eating dangerous chemicals. I avoid anything that is GMO and eat only meat from local farmers. (BTW...I watched this series while on my elliptical on mountain climb at the maxxed out setting!) Many countries have banned Monsanto products and grains, however the United States seems to turn a blind eye to the onslaught of horrors being produced by them, including the health issues created thereof.
