The Books and Writing podcast is an Australian-based show produced by ABC Radio National. The host covers a variety of literature and writing topics on each show, and frequently interviews in-studio guests.

I found that although this show is based in Australia, its scope is more far-reaching than that. The topics are interesting, and relevant to all would-be writers regardless of physical location. For example, one show talked about what really goes on in writers' workshops. Although the host and guest were talking about specific workshops and university courses in Australia, the general principles of the discussion could certainly be applied to workshops around the world.

Overall, I think this is a very helpful podcast for anyone who wants to learn more about the craft of writing. Give it a try!

Books and Writing Podcast is a weekly podcast produced by ABC Radio National, Australia. This podcast is a treat for the literature lover. Every week, new books are reviewed and critiqued, and ideas and writings discussed.

For example, I listened to the August 28 edition of this podcast, in which the featured book was Delia Falconer's 'The Lost Thoughts of Soldiers'. An excerpt from the book was read out by the author, and was followed by a comprehensive discussion about the book and its main thematic concern- the value of life, especially when set against the horrors of war.

Overall, I find that this podcast presents literary and writing-based issues in a highly informative, insightful and discerning manner. It is presented well and the audio quality is good. I give this podcast 5 stars.
