Sometimes a panel discussion about current controversies in the cultural world, other times an in-depth interview with an author or leading figures in media, the arts, entertainment or politics, The Politics of Culture examines the intersection where the world of politics and culture meet and sometimes collide.

KCRW’s “Politics of Culture” was truly enjoyable to listen to. This biweekly show focuses on popular topics in cultural studies and sociology. This podcast is really dedicated to basically the philosophy of culture and how or who determines what ‘culture’ is. Listening to the featured show raised many though provoking ideas as well as the show presented straightforward information.

While this podcast was entertaining, it was apparent that it was not geared towards the grassroots form of artistic expression. However, this podcast seemed more geared towards providing information about big name productions or grand stage performances.

Regardless, the sound quality of the show was excellent and intelligent questions were asked by the show’s host during the interview.
